What we'd look for
- An actual rubber backing on any rug — a thin non-woven or "grip dot" backing still slides on polished tile
- A traction product labeled for paw pads specifically, not a floor treatment — the two aren't interchangeable
- A reapplication schedule you'll realistically keep up with — sprays and waxes wear off within days to a couple weeks
